ABOUT THE EVENT

After almost three years of virtual training, the leading capacity-building event for cancer patient advocates returns to a face-to-face event.

The WECAN Academy was initiated in 2019 when two leading capacity-building programs in patient advocacy were combined, the WECAN Smartstart for new and novice patient advocates and WECAN Masterclass for expert patient advocates. The WECAN Academy offers training for advocates in all skill sets in the three knowledge pillars “Advocacy Tools & Skills”, “Healthcare Systems, Policy and Access,” and “Research and Data”.

Within these pillars and the 4 days of training in July 2023, our attendees will experience an increased level of complexity.

This unique format gives an opportunity to those patient advocates who are starting their journey in the field of advocacy to learn the basics and meet the experts as well as providing a space for networking. For the more experienced patient advocates, the WECAN Academy 2023 training event will offer room to exchange knowledge and dig into the topics that help to make patient advocacy even more effective.

The sessions will be interactive, straight to the point and applicable to many different areas of patient advocacy
