Research I 15 June 2026
A remarkable week for EuroACT: EHA 2026, dashboard launch, and scientific publication
The past week has marked extraordinary milestones for the EuroACT initiative, with three major achievements reached in rapid succession.

First, EuroACT was proudly showcased at the 2026 Congress of the European Hematology Association (EHA), where patient advocates, researchers, and stakeholders explored how clinical trial data can be leveraged to strengthen patient advocacy and support more informed decision-making across Europe. The engagement and interest received during the congress reaffirmed the relevance of the project and its growing impact within the haematology community. Ehaweb | Link to abstract
Second, building on this momentum, EuroACT officially launched its interactive dashboard, making the project’s extensive clinical trial dataset including data from more than 24,000 clinical trials across 27 disease areas in Europe accessible to patient advocates, researchers, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and other stakeholders. The dashboard provides unprecedented access to insights on clinical trial activity, geographical distribution, and the use of Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) across Europe. Dashboard
Third, adding to these achievements, we are delighted to announce that the EuroACT peer-reviewed scientific paper has now been officially published in Blood Global Hematology. Link to publication
The study examines clinical trial activity across a broad range of malignant and non-malignant haematological conditions and identifies substantial geographical disparities in the distribution of clinical trials across Europe. It also highlights significant gaps in the integration of PROMs, revealing missed opportunities to systematically capture patient perspectives and experiences within clinical research.
These findings reinforce the need to improve equitable access to clinical trials and strengthen the integration of patient-reported outcomes in research, supporting more patient-centred healthcare, regulatory, and policy decisions.
Our achievements reflect the dedication and collaboration of the entire EuroACT partnership, including the EuroACT Steering Committee, WECAN, the European Patient Advocacy Institute (EPAI), Syreon Research Institute, patient advocates, researchers, and partner organisations across Europe. We would like to sincerely thank everyone who has contributed their expertise, time, and commitment to making these milestones possible.
Three major milestones in less than one week demonstrate the growing impact of EuroACT and bring us one step closer to improving transparency, equity, and patient-centredness in clinical research across Europe.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
EuroACT is a research project initiated by WECAN and the European Hematology Community. The project aims to understand the clinical trial landscape in the European region, based on data extracted from all relevant European clinical trial registers. Data from the past five years will unveil differences where clinical trials have been run in European countries and will describe how and which patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and quality-of-life (QoL) instruments have been used in clinical trials.
