Recognition for EuroACT: Collaborating with OECD on European Health Policy

We are pleased to share that the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) contacted us after discovering our European Atlas on Clinical Trials in Cancer and Hematology (EuroACT) work on our website. This marks an exciting milestone: our patient-driven data and insights are now contributing to OECD’s efforts in shaping future European health policy.

EuroACT is a research project initiated by WECAN and the European Hematology Community which aims to understand the clinical trial landscape in the European region, based on data extracted from all relevant European clinical trial registers.

This collaboration underscores the growing influence of EuroACT in addressing cancer care inequalities and advancing evidence-based policymaking across Europe.

WECAN and the European haematology patient community, in collaboration with Syreon Research Institute, continue to show how patient-centred data can inform high-level discussions, contribute to systemic change, and support efforts to improve equity in healthcare.

EuroACT shows that patient voices belong in informed policymaking

ABOUT THE PROJECT

EuroACT is a research project initiated by WECAN and the European Hematology Community. The project aims to understand the clinical trial landscape in the European region, based on data extracted from all relevant European clinical trial registers. Data from the past five years will unveil differences where clinical trials have been run in European countries and will describe how and which patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and quality-of-life (QoL) instruments have been used in clinical trials.
